The golden cactus is a weapon developed by the Ardamalian people, designed to deplete the energy of enemy force field shields.
Once activated, it continuously launches a large number of micro-missiles. Each missile randomly carries a different type of damage and randomly changes direction when approaching an enemy force field shield.
This will force the enemy's force field shields to switch modes and adjust energy distribution frequently, causing an overload of the enemy's energy and computing power, ultimately rendering the shields paralyzed.
The weapon is designed to quickly disable enemy force field shields, forcing the enemy to retreat or surrender. It has minimal effect on armor and buildings, and is mainly used for defense rather than offense.
Because the dense micro-missiles resemble the spines of a cactus and emit a golden glow when launched, they earned the name Golden Cactus.
Design inspiration comes from the Cactuar attack skill "1,000 Needles" in Final Fantasy and the Ancient missile (Drone) in Stargate.
